Marshfield Clinic mobile mammography screenings in the Northwoods
Over the next several weeks, one of Marshfield Clinic’s mobile mammography units will provide on-site breast cancer screenings, by appointment, at several locations in the Northwoods.
Rhinelander
One of Marshfield Clinic’s mobile mammography units will provide on-site breast cancer screenings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Rhinelander GM Auto Center, 1935 N. Stevens St., Rhinelander. Public tours of the mobile unit will be available from noon to 1 p.m. Call (715) 221-6086 to schedule an appointment.
Also during the day, the Chevy Local Marketing Association and Rhinelander GM Auto Center will donate $10 for each test drive to help fund the purchase of a third mobile mammography unit at Marshfield Clinic as part of Chevy Dealers’ Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. Patients receiving screenings are not required to take a test drive.

“Screening often is the first line of defense, which is why Marshfield Clinic has mobile mammography units traveling throughout central, northern and western Wisconsin to provide patients easy access to screening,” said Myron Gadke, mobile services manager at Marshfield Clinic. “Last year, our two units provided screening for more than 7,000 women, including many in rural Wisconsin.”
During one-on-one mammography screening, licensed and certified female technicians from Marshfield Clinic conduct a thorough medical history, answer questions and perform an exam.
Screening is open to anyone, but advance appointments are required.
For patients with health insurance or Medicare, the mammogram costs will be billed to their health insurance providers. For financial assistance for a screening mammogram, call the Marshfield Clinic Patient Assistance Center at (715) 389-4475 to determine eligibility.
