Devere A. Stalsberg, 78, of the Town of Sugar Camp, died peacefully at his home on Sept. 25, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family. Devere was born on Oct. 5, 1933, in Richland Center, to Bennie and Edith (Codwell) Stalsberg.

After his schooling he entered the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Kenosha and went to work in maintenance for Kenosha County. He was with the county until retiring in 1993. He had married Emily Price on November 27, 1964 in Kenosha. After his retirement they moved to Sugar Camp and have lived there since. Devere loved anything to do with the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved animals and was an avid horseman. The family vacations were often camping trips by horseback.

Devere is survived by his wife Emily of Sugar Camp; his two sons, Daryl of Wausau and Daniel of Kenosha; his seven grandchildren, Chase, Asia, Bryce, Mason, Jeff, Autumn and Haley; and his brother, Myron “Bub” (Mary) Stalsberg of Kenosha; other family and many friends. He was preceded by his parents and one brother.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home.
