Want to change up your workout routine? Do you have sore joints, muscles or arthritis? Try the YMCA’s water fitness classes.

Water fitness classes have been shown to improve muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness without deteriorating your joints. Getting into the pool to exercise is also a great way to cross-train for other sports like running and biking. And for all of you potential health seekers out there, the water is a great way to take the first step in health and fitness because you can adapt and modify exercises to work for you.

The YMCA of the Northwoods offers specialty classes like the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program. This class has increased in enrollment because the benefits of water on joints are second to none. Experience better range of motion and a reduction in pain after participation in this class.

For more information on YMCA Aquatics programs, call (715) 362-9622, ext. 111, or visit ymcaofthenorthwoods.org.
