Dorothy M. Stebbins, 76, of Rhinelander, died Sept. 7, 2012, in Rhinelander. She was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in Edgerton, to Charles and Elizabeth (Patterson) Young.

Dorothy graduated from Stoughton High School in 1954, in Stoughton. She married George on Dec. 26, 1954 in Edgerton. They worked together on his parents farm and raised three daughters. After studying accounting at Blackhawk Technical College, she took a job at the Highway Trailer Industries in Edgerton as an accountant. In 1972 they moved their family north to Rhinelander and they purchased the Trails End Grocery Store. She obtained her Realtors License also during this time. For a few years she worked for Englert Reality. She worked as an admissions clerk at St. Mary’s Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She cherished her home in the Three Lakes area. She enjoyed being around her family and friends. In the spring, Dorothy would add new flowers to her garden. During the summer and fall months of the year she enjoyed getting out on the boat. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George and her parents.

She is survived by her three daughters, Joan of Three Lakes, Cheryl (Fred) Kunze of Pelican Lake and Betty (Steven) Hicks of Rhinelander; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; and two more great grandchildren on the way in 2013.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home with the Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until just prior to the services on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Carlson Funeral Home.
