Local doctor takes leave due to water skiing accident

Dr. Jim Dyreby of Northland Orthopedic Associates was involved in a waterskiing accident in late August. He suffered a complex acetabular (hip) fracture dislocation. Since Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital is not equipped to handle such fractures, and St. Joseph’s Hospital was closed to trauma that day, Dr. Dyreby had surgery at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, and is now back at home recovering.
Dr. Dyreby will not be available for clinic appointments or surgery for several weeks. He hopes to return to limited practice in October, and resume full practice in January if everything goes well.
In the meantime, Dr. Lowry, Dr. Padgett and Dr. Tvedten are able to continue accepting patients at Northland Orthopedic, and will be covering Dr. Dryeby’s practice in his absence.
