Obituary: Mary K. Fox
Mary K. Fox, 83, of Rhinelander, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at her residence. She was born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Joseph G. and Mary (Blong) Skubal.
Mary attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and was a 1947 graduate of Rhinelander High School. She was united in marriage to Donald C. Fox on Nov. 27, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rhinelander. Together they raised a family of 11 children. Mary had been employed at several places over the years, including McDonald’s and at Frasier’s Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1970. She was a parishioner at Nativity of Our Lord (St. Mary’s Catholic Church), and was involved in their Woman’s Club, and prayer group.
Surviving are 10 children, Peggy (Dennis) DeMeyer, Donald “Charlie” Fox Jr., Joseph (Debbie) Fox, Rosemary (Jeffrey) Otto, Patricia Urquhart, Janet Fox-Cook (Michael), Kathleen Dolch and Thomas (Linda) Fox, all of Rhinelander, Daniel Fox of Medford and David (Sandy) Fox of Rothschild. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Mary and Pearl Skubal. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sr.; a son, Ronald; brothers Edward and Eugene Skubal; daughter-in-law Melissa Fox; and a son-in-law Terry Urquhart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m., at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church – St. Mary’s site, with Fr. Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home, with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary.
