Frederick D. Stefan, 66, of Rhinelander, died on Aug. 31, 2012, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born on Dec. 15, 1945.

Fred is survived by his daughter Brandy Coakley(Stefan) and her husband Brian Coakley; their 2 children Megan and Bailey; his brother John Stefan; his sisters, Rosemary Johns (Dootsie) and Barbara Kruger and his many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents William and Marie Stefan, and brother William Stefan (the Z).

He had a distinguished career as an electrical engineer with the Navy, Coast Guard, Tropicana and Twist Drill. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling, telling a good story, driving fast cars, and carousing the local tap rooms. His retirement hobbies were doctor’s appointments, feeding the wildlife, gardening and cocktailing with Old Crow. He will be missed. Special thank you to Muggie and The Lancer for support, companionship and a good story.

Visitation for Fred will be held at the Carlson Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. until noon. Reception immediately following at Rocky’s Road House 4293 County P, Rhinelander.
