Letter: Does Obama face unfair scrutiny? by Craig Strid
Editor:
Do you ever wonder what Barack Obama’s presidency would have been if he had been born with white skin?
Was the opposition, the games of defiance, the gridlock, the birthed contention and setting the bar so high in counter proposals as to reflect failure and humiliation. Was Congressional behavior contaminated. Did the color of a president’ skin prevent this country from attaining recovery?
I thought our generation got through the judgment of man by his clothes or judgment of a book by its cover-especially at the nation’s capital, where the laws of equality and in God We Trust are defined. It appears that the colors of the American flag have faded.
What would compel me to write such a letter to the editor. The fact that I had three people make the nauseating statement of “we have to get that “N—-” out of the White House.” These three were a percentage of the American public.
If I was capable of giving you black skin for one year, would you wear it, or would you feel that people would no longer see you as you are.
Food for thought…
