GB?s Dance Band at Concerts on the Riverwalk

GB’s Dance Band returns to Concerts on the Riverwalk on Wednesday, July 25, at 7 p.m., at the bandshell near Trig’s in downtown Rhinelander.

The seven-piece group lead by Jim Pekol brings the sounds of the Big Band to the stage with popular tunes from the 1930s to the 1960s.

“Our library contains everything from swing and dixieland to country and rock,” said Pekol. “For dancers, we offer jitterbug, waltz, latin and polka.”

GB’s has become one of the favorites of the summer bandshell series in Rhinelander through the years. “The audience just loves this group,” said Concerts on the Riverwalk organizer Jan Leschke. “We are lucky to have them play for us. If you don’t make any other concert this year, this should be the one.”

As always, Concerts on the Riverwalk are free, and goodwill donations will be collected. Some tables and benches are available, but listeners are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of bad weather, the performance will be held at Nativity of Our Lord (St. Mary’s) on King Street just behind McDonald’s.
