Chain Skimmers of Eagle River partner with Frederick Place
The Chain Skimmers of Eagle River and the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. (NATH) partnered for a picnic and water ski show fundraiser on June 23.
Although the weather was damp, the spirits of both groups were not dampened. The Chain Skimmers performed an outstanding ski show for the crowd. In addition to the wonderful ski show and lunch, a bucket raffle was held for several baskets of donated items and a 50/50 raffle was held.
NATH and Chain Skimmers gratefully appreciate Lanny Studdard of Lanny’s Fireside for providing beef sandwiches and sloppy joes for the lunch. The employees of Coldwell Banker Mulleady Realtors donated $120. NATH and the Chain Skimmers were excited by the support of the community. This event garnered approximately $500 for each organization.
NATH’s homeless shelter, Frederick Place, provides emergency, temporary shelter for families, women and men from Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, and Vilas Counties.
The operating expenses for the 16-bed shelter includes food, utilities, insurance, case management, supplies, and staff salaries. Businesses, organizations, families and individuals are asked to partner with NATH to help shelter those experiencing homelessness in the Northwoods. The cost to provide one night of shelter for one individual is $40.
