Robert “RC” C. Johnsey, 80, of Rhinelander, and formerly of Freeport, Ill., died, July 3, 2012, at Ministry Saint Mary’s hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 22, 1932, to Richard and Maude (Walker) Johnsey in Memphis, Tenn.

Robert graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee in 1950. He did his Carpenter apprenticeship with Carpenters Local Union 752. Robert had his own construction business for 30 years as well as worked for other companies. He married the former Judith Broughton on Feb. 14, 1982 and moved to Rhinelander in 1987 where they enjoyed their retirement. Robert loved his family and enjoyed playing cards with them and friends. He was a perfectionist and very particular about how things were done and spent a lot of time in his “shop” doing woodworking. Robert was an avid reader, reading five books a week, especially mystery books, he couldn’t put them down. He liked watching the Cubs, gardening, baking, train rides and telling jokes. Robert was a loving husband and always wanted the best for his wife and family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judith, children; Alicia (Joseph) Payette and Angela (William) Dux and grandchildren; Daniel, Aaron, Bryce and Evan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn.

A celebration of Robert’s Life will be held on Friday, July 6, at his home, 2863 Wausau Road in Rhinelander, from 4 to 6 p.m.
