Making Tracks: All kinds of fun in store for the Hodag Block Party
Summer in the Northwoods is in full swing, and there are so many activities happening in the Rhinelander area. The warm weather and sunshine are a great excuse to get outside and explore our community and area. Later this month we are inviting you to do just that.
On Saturday, June 30 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., you are all invited to join us downtown Rhinelander on Davenport Street for the Hodag Block Party. The day will include fun and entertainment for the entire family. We have tons of entertainment lined up, starting with Cliff the Magic Man and followed by live music by Niki and the Nimrods and the Lake George Music Group. We’ll have carnival games all day long for the kids as well, everything from minnow races to plinko and a bouncy house. And don’t forget about all the food too! Plus, many of the downtown Rhinelander businesses will join in on the fun as well, opening their doors and inviting you in to find the perfect gift to remember the day with, or enjoy a great meal after you’ve had a day full of fun.
The Hodag Block Party kicks off after the YMCA’s Hodag Run for Your Life. So you can sign up to partake in the race in the morning, and then continue your fun downtown after a job well done and a successful race completed. The entire day is designed around family fun. We want you to come out and enjoy the fun Rhinelander can offer, spend some time downtown at the Block Party then make your way into our stores downtown, on Lincoln Street and throughout the Rhinelander community to see the great selection they all offer, and then fill up at one of our great area restaurants before you head home for the evening.
We are still looking for volunteers to help us run the games as well during the day on the 30th. We have two different shifts available, one from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and then 2:30 to 6 p.m. If you have a couple of hours to spare, we could definitely use the help. All of the games are easy to run, and will be tons of fun to watch the kids play. Give us a call if you can help.
I also have to give a huge thank you to all of our sponsors for the event. It wouldn’t be possible without their support. Thank you to M&I, a part of BMO Financial, Big Daddy’s, Oneida County Tavern League, Aspirus Foundation & Kohl’s Kids Keys to Life, Coyote 93.7 FM, Dean Distributing, Stifel Nicolaus and CoVantage Credit Union.
So we hope you’ll mark your calendar and make your way to Rhinelander on June 30 for all the fun!
