Kids compete at Main St. Memories skateboard event
During the 18th Annual Main Street Memories Car Show, kids competed for cash and trophies in the third annual Skateboard Competition in Pride Park on Saturday, May 26. The event was postponed last year until the skate park could be restored, thanks to partnership between Tomahawk High School, City of Tomahawk and private citizens.
Dixie and Andy Zastrow, original donors to the skate park acted as master of ceremonies and distributed trophies and awards to teens who participated in the Skateboard Competition. Judges were Kevin Zastrow, Dixie Zastrow and Clarann Stocker.
Trophy winners included: 1st place winner was Adam Jones, Jaware Holmes placed 2nd and Riley Damon came in 3rd place. Winning additional awards in the Advanced Category was Adam Jones (1st), Jaware Holmes (2nd place), Dwight Ellis (3rd place) and George Wood, Jr. (4th place). In the Intermediate Category, Dwight Ellis placed 1st and George Wood, Jr. won 2nd place. Virgil Crary won 1st place in the Beginner 1 category and Riley Damon won 1st place in the Beginner 2 category.
