Minocqua Center supports Dive Team Swim Challenge
Marshfield Clinic is sponsoring the first Minocqua Island Swim Challenge to raise funds for the Oneida County Dive Team.
“We feel it’s important to help sponsor this new event for a few reasons,” said Rick Clark, administrator, Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center. “The swim challenge offers people the opportunity to participate in physical activity to help promote healthy lifestyles. But more importantly, the Oneida County Dive Team provides a rescue and recovery service that is a vital addition to emergency services in our area.”
The Minocqua Island Swim Challenge will be held June 23. There will be a one-mile “out and back” swim race that will start from Torpy Park and follow a marked course on Lake Minocqua.
To register, contact the Minocqua Chamber of Commerce or Timber Bay Sport and Dive Center in Woodruff. On-site registration at Torpy Park will be available from 4 to 8 p.m. on June 22 and from 7 to 8 a.m. on June 23. The first 100 entries will receive a commemorative t-shirt, swim cap and goody bag.
