Letter: Walker money not well-spent by Jim Leschke

News media around the state report that Governor Walker has raised $25 million to fight efforts to recall him as Governor. $13 million of that came in the last reporting period alone. Much of that has come in big chunks, and a good amount from out of state sources. That’s a lot of money.

At the same time, media are reporting about cuts to various public programs, including education, and students at Rhinelander High School protested against cuts to the teaching staff. I wonder if Governor Walker would be facing a recall if he had used his spectacular fundraising skills in the service of improving funding for our schools and communities, rather than furthering his own career and ideology?

Jim Leschke, Rhinelander
