Rae Ann Papke, 56, of Lake Tomahawk, died on May 10, 2012, at her home. She was born on May 25, 1955, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Robert and Alice Papke.

Rae Ann was raised in Wisconsin Rapids, and later resided in Woodruff with her parents upon their retirement. Following the passing of her mother, she joined Ed and Anita Blotnicki at their adult family home 19 years ago. Rae Ann enjoyed coloring, Barney, singing, stops at McDonald’s and Christmas time. She also attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Rae Ann will be fondly remembered for her strength in the face of adversity and despite her disabilities, shared much love and joy with those who knew her.

Rae Ann is survived by a brother, Martin (Becky) Papke of Michigan; a step brother, Roger Hill; an uncle, Clifford Papke; Ed and Anita Blotnicki and their family; and cousins. She was preceded by her parents and special friend and companion, Tena Pinkowsky.

A memorial service for Rae Ann will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rhinelander with Pastor Charles Kohley officiating. A gathering time will take place from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday, June 9, at the church.
