Updated Wed., 5/9 – Let’s say you’re at a grocery store and you see a crowd gathered around a man lying on his back, looking dazed and holding his head. You’re in this large crowd yet no one is helping this man. He needs help form someone and that someone could be you.
On Wednesday, May 9, at 4 p.m., the YMCA of the Northwoods will be holding an American Red Cross first aid/CPR/ and AED community course. This course will cover infant, child and adult CPR/AED/ and first aid, cardiac emergencies, injury prevention and so much more.
Did you know that injuries resulted in more than 160,000 deaths in the U.S. each year, over 40 million injury-related visits were made to U.S. hospital emergency rooms in 2003, and that about 700,000 Americans have strokes each year!
This course will get you better prepared to react in an emergency situation. The cost of the course is $57 for members and $67 for the general public. The Y will also offer a CPR refresher course Oct. 22 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
For more information, or to register, call the Y at (715) 362-9622.
