Elizabeth L. Miller, 85, of Rhinelander, died April 24, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born on Feb. 6, 1927, in Vancouver, Wash., to Thomas and Ella (Garrow) Alsteen.

In 1929 she moved to Rhinelander with her family. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1946. She married Glen Towne in September 1946, and then married Joe Miller in 1988. She owned and operated a bait shop here for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Elizabeth is survived by her children; Glen (Sue) Towne of Rhinelander, Daniel (Lola) Towne of Jacksonville, Fl. and Lynn (Dave) Schroeder of Harshaw, her grandchildren Dan Jr., Patrick, Elizabeth and David, brother Paul Alsteen of Washington, her sisters; Ella (Jim) Sturtevant of Florida and Dolly Alsteen of Rhinelander. Her step-children; James Miller of Virginia, Phillip (Hannie) Miller of Georgia, Cynthia Ballinger of Rhinelander , Rebecca (John) McChesney of South Dakota , Paul (Mary) Miller and Joel (Vicky) Miller both of Rhinelander Also numerous step-grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Glen and Joe, a step-child JoAnn Keso.

Funeral services will be held at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home on Monday, April 30, at 1 p.m., with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Interment will follow at Northand Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of service.
