Verna L. Schramke

Verna L. Schramke, 76, of Rhinelander, died April 20, 2012, in Rhinelander. She was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Elcho, or Ezra and Myrtle Van Duser.

She graduated from Elcho High School in 1953, married George Schramke and moved to Rhinelander. Verna enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Georgia (Tom) Schramke-Larson; and her two grandsons, Justin Larson and Alex Schramke. She is further survived by five sons, Steve, Bruce, Craig, Randy and Brian, and their children; two sisters, June (Jim) Rabideau of Greenfield; Doris (Daryll) Turney of New Holstein; a brother, Charles (Rowena) Van Duser of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Steve) Pelzer of Iowa and janice Van Duser of Elcho; and a brother-in-law, “Chuck” (Vickie) Pelzer of Elcho; and her boyfriend, Marvin Price of Rhinelander. She was preceded by her husband, George; a brother, Erhardt Van Duser; her brothers-in-law, “Duke” Pelzer, Gene Schramke and Dennis Schramke; and her sisters-in-law, Carol Felton and Marjory Carlton.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 5 p.m., at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, with Rev. Williams Brown officiating. Visitation will be begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
