Ribbon cutting for Marshfield Clinic Rhinelander Dental Center set for April 23
A ribbon cutting dedication ceremony for the new Marshfield Clinic Rhinelander Dental Center, in partnership with Family Health Center of Marshfield, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, April 23. The Dental Center is at 2268 North Shore Dr., across from Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Speakers at the dedication ceremony include;
• Greg Nycz, director, Family Health Center of Marshfield
• Terri Kleutsch, Dental Division administrator, Marshfield Clinic
• Dr. Brian Ewert, president, Marshfield Clinic
• Dr. Laura Nelson, chief medical officer, Marshfield Clinic
• Richard Johns, mayor, City of Rhinelander
• Dave Obey, former U.S. Seventh District congressman
• Stan Gruszynski, state director, USDA Rural Development
“Marshfield Clinic Rhinelander Dental Center is open to everyone,” Kleutsch said. “It serves families in Oneida and surrounding counties, and offers dental care to people of all ages, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. A sliding fee scale is available to assist families with limited income and no insurance.”
“We’re proud to offer state-of-the-art equipment in a very comfortable setting,” said Chris Lamon, manager, Rhinelander Dental Center.
The Rhinelander Dental Center reflects a unique partnership between the Family Health Center and Marshfield Clinic-and a Rhinelander community commitment to oral health access, education and prevention, Kleutsch said.
Dental care is an important component of overall health care, and the Rhinelander Dental Center makes it possible for more families in Northern Wisconsin to access oral health services, Nycz said.
“In Wisconsin and in most of the nation, children with Medicaid coverage and other low-income residents with emergent dental problems have difficulty accessing dental care,” he said.
Nycz acknowledged the other partners who helped make the new dental center possible, including the City of Rhinelander, former Congressman Obey and the USDA Rural Development program.
Assistance in financing the construction of the Rhinelander Dental Center was received from the USDA Rural Development Program to provide economic development and improve access to dental services in Northern Wisconsin. Grant funding to assist in equipping the facility was received through a Health Care and Other Facilities grant with the help of Obey.
The Rhinelander Dental Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call (715) 420-1400.
