Robert E. Deede
Robert E. Deede, 73 of Rhinelander, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. He was born on August 27, 1938, in Townsend, to Joseph and Ruth Deede.
Bob graduated from Wabeno High School in 1956. Following graduation, he moved to Milwaukee where he was employed as part of the “Deep Tunnel” project. He married Marilyn Schalz on July 18, 1959, in Green Bay. Together, they resided in Milwaukee before moving to Green Bay in 1962 when Bob began his career as a lineman with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation. He transferred to WPS in Rhinelander in 1984; residing at his former vacation home on Post Lake. He and Marilyn moved to Rhinelander in 1985 with Bob retiring in 2002.
Bob enjoyed traveling, the Green Bay Packers, and Nascar. In 2009, he purchased an eighty acre farm where he enjoyed gardening and working with his tractors. Most of all, he cherished his family and was always there to help his children and grandchildren with anything that needed fixing.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert (Kimberly) Deede of Rhinelander; his daughter, Catherine Deede of Rhinelander; four grandchildren, Robert Jerome (Krystle), Cecilia (Kerry Paul), Emma Jane, and Kasey; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Jealene; two sisters, Ardis (Ike) Schreiber of Wabeno and Joan (Dick) LaRock of Lac du Flambeau; two brothers, Richard (MaryAnn) Deede of Antigo and John (Claudia) Deede of Menomonee Falls; nieces and nephews; and his pet companions, Greta, Allie, Mariah, Chip and Zorrow. He was preceded by his parents and his wife, Marilyn, on Dec. 17, 2008.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 2 p.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home, with Revs. Claudia and Krysta Deede officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
