Walker targeting low-income seniors by Shirley Gee
Editor:
It wasn’t enough that Governor Walker tried to take away workers’ rights and cut money for education; now he is targeting seniors that need extra through state programs.
If you are low income, he is making sure you can’t qualify for help because if you have life insurance, this new program that he is spending money on, called CDPU (Centralized Document Processing Unit) is using the cash value of your life insurance policy, and also cemetery plots, as assets to boost your income so you don’t qualify for extra help. Therefore, if you needed the help to pay your Medicare premium, you don’t qualify.
Evidently, if you need extra money, cash in your life insurance, The CDPU program counts it as extra income. (I wonder if he notified the IRS of his extra income from the cash value of his life insurance, or if it pertains only to seniors.)
I hope the seniors vote him out of office. We don’t need his dictator type of government. I’m writing from experience.
