Ronald F. Wetterau

Ronald F. Wetterau, 79, of Rhinelander, died March 28, 2012, in Rhinelander. He was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Milwaukee, to Isabel and Robert Wetterau.

He was a graduate of Menomonee Falls High School. Ron was first employed as a cabinet maker, then a hair dresser and then owned and operated the Clear Lake Inn for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family games, as well as the Packers. He served his Lord as a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church as an usher, church councilman and building and grounds committee member for many years. Ron was a member of the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce, the local snowmobile club, and delivered Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois; sons Jon and James; granddaughter Amber; niece Carol Anne Matthies; cousins; friends; and his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Arlene Matthies; and her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, at 11 a.m., at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Peter Korthals officiating. Visitation will be from from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, at Carlson Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Entombment will be in the Northland Garden Mausoleum.
