O’Melia very fair and dedicated By Harlan Larson

I have been involved with education in Rhinelander for 45 years. I have known John O’Melia since he was in high school back playing basketball in the early ’70s. I have watched him officiate basketball games with the integrity to be the best official that he can. What amazes me is that he always wants to do one thing better. In his refereeing career, he worked to be good enough to be a referee at WIAA state basketball games.

I have worked with him more recently with the Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation (RASF). He has been a solid force behind fundraising activities especially the half-court shot at both the girls and boys basketball games. Due to his tireless effort, we have raised money for the seniors’ scholarships that are given in the spring of the year. He has been a member of RASF for many years and has a deep concern for students getting money to further their education.

I believe that with his dedication to be the best, he would make a great Oneida County Circuit Court Judge.
