Public workers should be treated fairly By Greg Pence

I just got through plowing 20-some inches of snow. I’ve helped people get unstuck that were buried so they could get home or get to work or get to the doctor or store. Don’t thank me for doing my job if you’re going to go out and vote for the people that took my rights from me.

I’ve worked for the City of Rhinelander for 36 years. I’ve helped build roads, plow roads and keep everything going so you can drive to where you need to go. Teachers have taught your kids, and you and me, so we can survive in this world. All public employee jobs are to help the taxpayers of this state and country. They have bargained fairly for everything they have. Unions have made the workers safe, and have made for good places to work, with fair wages and benefits, which in turn has made it better for non-union workers.

When times were tough, workers took benefits instead of wage increases. Public employees are taxpayers too. We don’t like high taxes either. All we want is to go to work and do our jobs and be treated with the respect we deserve.

Walker and his buddies need to go. The taxpayers would not be paying for a recall if he would have been honest. He would have lost to begin with. Get us a governor who can walk the streets and be proud, not one that has to go in and out the back door and hide.
