Nicolet student elected BPA state president
Nicolet College student Vicky Hunter was elected state president of the Wisconsin Business Professionals of America organization at the annual Spring Leadership Conference in Rice Lake.
Hunter and two other students also earned high honors in a variety of competitions held at the conference.
Hunter, from Rhinelander, earned a first in Parliamentary Procedures and Concepts. Lisa Mikkelson of Tomahawk earned two firsts, one in Keyboarding Production and a second in Integrated Office Applications. Theresa Lammert of Rhinelander earned a third in Basic Office Systems and Procedures.
Students also participated in seminars on Skype, Dressing for Success and heard an inspirational presentation from Dave Anderson, founder of Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que.
All three students will now attend and compete at the National Leadership Conference in Chicago April 26-29.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for middle school, high school and college students preparing for careers in business and information technology. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
