Daniel A. Pond, 70 of Gleason, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on Dec. 2, 1941, in Rhinelander, to James and Mabel Pond. He married Genevieve Glugla on February 14, 1992, in Rhinelander.

Mr. Pond worked for many years in construction. He was an avid hunter, chasing white tail and grouse. He loved to fish, play on his 4-wheeler, socialize with his friends, and cut firewood.

In addition to his wife, Genevieve, he is survived by his daughter, Jackie Lyn (Damon) Meirhofer of Neenah; two step daughters, Therese (Timothy) Winter of Rhinelander and Kristine (Steve) Peeters of Tomahawk; a grandson, Christian Hoganson; five brothers, Raymond (Joan), Elmer, David, Gail (Jackie), and Roger (Jackie) Pond all of Rhinelander; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Gerald Boerst of Waukesha, WI; and his dogs, Pepsi, Penny, and Lancelot. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with Mr. Pond’s wishes, no services will be held.
