Ethel P. Dorion, 78, of Rhinelander, died Feb. 1, 2012, in Rhinelander. She was born on October 14, 1933, in Rhinelander, to Edwin and Martha Lemke.

She attended schools here and then married Donald “Dutch” Dorion on August 28, 1954. Ethel was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander. She had been employed first by Reeve’s Foodlane where she worked in the bakery and was an accomplished cake decorator. She then went to work for Luethold’s Clothing for a number of years. She was a longtime member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish. Ethel enjoyed cross stitching, reading and watching “Westerns”, and collecting antiques. When Dutch was still alive they enjoyed traveling. Of course her greatest joy came from her grandchildren.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Debra Ann (Rick) Shawl of Rhinelander; her daughter-in-law, Kim Dorion of Rhinelander; her four grandchildren, Perry and Shilo Dunlap and Joseph and Megan Dorion; her great granddaughter, Adrienne Dunlap; her sister, Verna Bonnie of Rhinelander; her brother, Herbert (June) Lemke of St. Paul, Minn; nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 6, 2007; her son Raymond, on Jan. 12, 2005, and three brothers; William, Michael and Gerald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Nativity of Our Lord Parish-St. Joseph’s site, with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at the Carlson Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until just prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
