Great Lakes Mitten Campaign receives great support

The Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce recently wrapped up a very successful drive to collect mittens, hats and warm winter apparel in the community. More than 100 pairs of mittens and gloves were collected, along with scarves, hats and even coats.

The Great Lakes Mitten Campaign grew from the debate between Wisconsin and Michigan surrounding which state looks more like a mitten. Tourism officials from both states teamed up to take the buzz surrounding this debate and turn it into a positive for both states.

The Rhinelander Chamber joined the collection and the community came through in a big way. All together more than 200 winter items were collected. The donations have been divided up and donated to the Warm for Winter Pantry and Frederick Place Homeless Shelter.

Thank you to the Rhinelander Community for their support and donations!
