Gretchen M. Guarniere, 50, of Rhinelander, died Sept. 23, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She was born Sept. 17, 1961, in Milwaukee, to August and Judith Buettner. She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Buettner-Wright of Rhinelander; and her brother, Tom (Lori) Buettner of Pickerel. She was preceded by her parents. Gretchen was the manager of the Dollar General in Rhinelander. A memorial service is being planned for a later date in Milwaukee.

Raymond Howell, 62, of Rhinelander, died Sept. 23, 2011, at Friendly Village Nursing Home. He was born Feb. 22, 1949, in Bremerton, Wash., to Lambert “Lindy” and Elvira Howell. He is survived by his son, Benjamin (Ericka) of New Glarus; three grandchildren; and his mother. He was preceded by his father; and his sister, Linda. Ray worked for the Rhinelander Water Department for more than 20 years. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m., at the Carlson Funeral Home.
